Hulme, Manchester born centre forward Thomas Ingham began his senior football career with First Division hometown club Manchester City, and made his Football League debut at Chelsea in March 1922. He made one further appearance for The Citizens, scoring in a 5-1 defeat at Newcastle United the following month, but after a further season in the reserves at Hyde Road he transferred to Chesterfield in the summer of 1923. Having scored on his debut in a defeat at Wolves, he lost his place after 6 matches of the new season at the end of September, and played twice more the following April before leaving Chesterfield. His career thereafter is unknown.
