Ladhope, Galashiels born wing half George Henderson began his football career as an amateur with Queen’s Park, making a single first team appearance for The Spiders against Hearts in May 1901. He joined Dundee later in 1901, moving to Rangers in 1902 and while at Ibrox he won a single cap for Scotland, playing in a 1-1 draw against Ireland at Dalymount Park in March 1904.
Henderson joined First Division club Middlesbrough in June 1905 making his Football League debut at Aston Villa that November but after 13 appearances for ‘Boro he signed for Chelsea in April 1906. He played 37 League matches in 1906-07 as Chelsea won promotion to the First Division as Second Division runners up, but struggled to get a starting berth in their First Division line up, Henderson scored once in 64 appearances for The Pensioners before joining Second Division club Glossop in May 1909, having only a single season with The Hillmen making 6 appearances before retiring from professional football.
