Description

Bristol born goalkeeper Bert Hasell started his football career with Eastville Wednesday in 1905 before joining Bolton Wanderers in May 1906, although he didn’t make a first team appearance for The Trotters, before joining First Division club Middlesbrough in July 1907, where as understudy to Tim Williamson he made his Football League debut against Everton that October, his only appearance for ‘Boro.

He joined First Division club Nottingham Forest in December 1909, taking over the gloves from John Smith, and playing the first half their games in their relegation season of 1910-11 before losing his place over Christmas 1910, He then joined Southern League club Plymouth Argyle in 1911 after 37 appearances for Forest, where he didn’t make their first eleven, and moved on to Swindon Town in 1912. making 7 appearances in the three seasons as understudy to Len Skiller before the First World War. He guested for Notts County during the War before his eventual retirement.
