Bonnyrigg born winger George Grant played junior football for Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic in 1930, Stoneyburn in 1931 and Tranent Juniors in 1932 before joining Falkirk in 1933, spending a season at Brockville Park before joining Workington in 1934. He returned to Tranent Juniors later in 1934 before joining Leith Athletic, and in 1935 he joined Albion Rovers. He joined St Bernard’s in 1936 before once again heading south to England in 1938, joining Clapton Orient, for whom he made his Football League debut against Port Vale that September, scoring 4 goals in 20 appearances for The O’s during 1938-39. But at the season end he joined Irish League club Ballymena United, before the advent of the Second World War ended his football career.
