Description

Paisley born inside forward Frank Gallacher joined Hamilton Academical in 1934 and from there transferred to Second Division Barnsley in the 1935 close season, making his Football League debut that September at Newcastle United. He scored his first 2 goals in the return fixture 5 days later as Barnsley won 3-2 at Oakwell, and played 35 times in his debut season, however he lost his place and when he joined Bristol City in March 1938 he had scored 11 goals in 45 appearances for The Tykes. His career at Ashton Gate was barely sooner started as ended by the Second World War, after 7 goals in 27 appearances, and he didn’t feature in peacetime football after the conflict.
