Left half Tommy Egan was a Hibernian regular between 1933, when he made his Scottish League debut at Partick Thistle that November and 1938, having been signed from Wishaw Juniors. “Tommy takes the honours for ball control and his good distribution is a great asset to the team” it was said of him at the time. He was also their leading appearance maker in 1936-37. In September 1937 he scored a hat-trick in a 6-3 win over Clyde, the other three goals all scored by Arthur Milne, Egan playing his final game for Hibs the following April, having scored 10 goals in 145 appearances.
