Ecclesfield, Yorkshire born outside right E dwin Dyal began his football career with Midland League club Worksop Town and played for Heeley Friends in 1904 before joining Second Division Chesterfield Town in 1905, for whom he made his Football League debut against Grimsby Town that September, scoring his first goal for The Spireites in their next match in a defeat at Burslem Port Vale. He was a regular for Chesterfield until losing his place in March 1906, by when he had scored 3 goals in 27 appearances, leaving Saltergate to re-join Heeley Friends in 1906.

Dyal joined Midland League club Denaby United in 1907 and moved to Rotherham Town in 1908 before returning to Denaby United in 1909. His final known club was Doncaster Rovers, whom he joined in 1910.
