Description

Earl’s Barton, Northamptonshire born outside left Albert Dunkley played junior football for Earls Barton Wesleyans in 1895 before joining Rushden in 1896 and Southern League Northampton Town, for the first time, in 1897. In 1900 he joined Second Division Leicester City, making his Football League debut against Stockport County in September 1900, but he played only 11 times before returning to Northampton Town in 1901. A move to New Brompton (now Gillingham) followed later in 1901 and two years later he joined Queen’s Park Rangers.

He returned to the Football League with a season at Blackburn Rovers in 1903-04 scoring on his debut at Small Heath but made only 4 appearances before joining Bristol Rovers, where he was part of their triumphant Southern League Championship winning team of 1905, remaining two seasons at Eastville. He joined Second Division club Blackpool in 1906 scoring 3 goals in 18 appearances during 1906-07, before returning to Northampton Town in 1907, where he remained for a further four years before joining non league St Michael’s Thursday in 1911.
