Dublin born left winger Dermot Doyle had played for Irish League Shelbourne in 1920-21 before a move to Welsh club Pontypridd in 1921. He soon joined Second Division Hull City in April 1922 and made his Football League debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final match of the 1921-22 season in May 1922. Although he started the new season in the first eleven, he quickly lost his place and made only 5 more appearances for Hull in 1922-1923, generally deputising for Alec Thom, leaving Boothferry Park at the end of the season. His career thereafter is uncertain.
