Harry “Peerie” Cunningham played for Ayr United before he found fame as Kilmarnock’s centre forward between 1925 and 1931. He hold’s Kilmarnock’s goalscoring record when he scored 36 goals in their 1927-28 campaign, of which a record 34 were in Scottish League matches, most famously the next season scoring Killie’s second goal in their 1929 Scottish Cup Final 2-0 victory over Rangers at Hampden Park in front of 114,000 spectators. During his Kilmarnock career he scored 108 goals in a total of 170 appearances, including a century of Scottish League goals (102 in total).
