Description
Bilsborrow, Lancashire born inside forward George Bargh played for Fulwood Amateurs in 1926 and then Garstang in 1927 from where he joined Second Division Preston North End in February 1928, making his debut at West Bromwich Albion in November 1928. He was a regular starter over the next 7 seasons before joining Sheffield Wednesday in May 1935 after 43 goals in 150 appearances. However he played only 5 times for Wednesday before joining Bury in August 1936. He played both sides of World War Two for Bury but also played 2 matches for Chesterfield in the abandoned 1939-40 season, and when he played at Luton Town in September 1946 he completed 95 Bury appearances, scoring 14 times before retirement.
