Description

Kilmaurs, Ayrshire born left back Kenny Bain began his football career in Scottish junior football, playing for Bathgate Primrose in 1907, Seafield Athletic in 1908, Loanhead Mayflower in 1910, Glasgow Ashfield in 1911, Mid Rhondda in 1912 and Southern League club Newport County in 1915, but after the First World War he re-joined Mid Rhondda in 1919 and played a season in Scotland for Clackmannan in 1920.

A year Bain later joined Division Three (South) club Queens Park Rangers, making his Football League debut against Aberdare Athletic in November 1921, where in each of his three seasons at Loftus Road he was a regular performer and played 98 matches for The R’s. However he was released at the end of 1923-24 after Rangers finished 22nd in the division and it is uncertain where (if at all) he played thereafter, having a trial with Brentford in November 1924 that didn’t lead to a permanent contract, his last recorded involvement in professional football.
