Bilston, Staffordshire born centre forward Alf Aston played for Bilston St Leonard’s in 1899 and Bilston United in 1900 before joining Second Division Burton United in February 1905. He made his Football League debut at Burnley the same month, scoring in a 1-1 draw, and over three seasons scored 16 goals in 52 appearances before joining non league Horninglow Rangers in 1907. He joined Wellington Town the same year and played for Tutbury Town in 1908, and finally Shobnall Villa in 1910.
