Cronberry, Ayrshire born wing half George Halley started with Kilmarnock before moving to Bradford Park Avenue in 1911, making his debut that September at Birmingham City, and playing 70 games for Park Avenue scoring 8 times before moving to Burnley in March 1913. While at Kilmarnock he had represented The Scottish League in February 1910 against The English League. At Burnley he was a member of the team that won the FA Cup in 1914 and the League Championship in 1921, playing 153 games and scoring 5 goals for The Clarets. He was a regular in the team that finished runners up, Champions, and 3rd in the initial peacetime seasons immediately after World War One, before moving to Southend United in November 1922 where he made 23 more appearances before retirement.
